Thankful Thursday

I am very thankful this Thursday because I've
gotten a lot of cool stuff going on as part of the
Blogville Olympics there has already been a lot
of fun events.  And in a few of the ones I've been
in have already awarded all of us great athletes the gold
including the gymnastics event
at Madi  and couch potato peeling with Lily Belle
In addition I have two awards to share one from Spitty
and the other I hope Madi's Mom does not mind picking
up this award as we were looking at the blog and saw this
offered for Moms who felt like her sister, which my Mom
feels very much purrs.

For these awards there is suppose to be seven
unusual things about me and interesting stuff about Mom
I will list four and let Mom list the other three
Willow: I told this before but it is really weird that my
fur turns various different colors sometimes more orange
and sometimes more black
Mom: Mom has flat feet with no real arch which is weird
for a human
Willow: While I am very flexible I have trouble with
jumping up and have to use several props to jump up to the cabinets
Mom: Mom never owned a car as uses public transportation
which is much cheaper to get around than driving
Willow: I sometimes listen to when Mom calls my name and come
to her so embarrassing
Mom: Mom never had a cavity paws crossed as she tries
to have good tooth maintenance
Willow:  I do not always meow at 0 ten O'Clock in the morning
as I let Mom sleep in
I am also thankful that I am one of the
16 finalist in synchronized snoozing that
is being hosted by The Island Cats.  I would
like to ask for some help with voting as I know
I would not win against Eric and Flynn, but I
would like to make a better showing than I am at
2% of the vote with 4 votes.  So I would be
very thankful for this support

Thankful Tortie Tuesday

Hi it is me Willow I convinced Mom to write a blog post
as she got done with all her work earlier than expected.
I am grateful that you understood why I needed
to limit the amount of blogging that I am doing now as
Mom has a case of the busies and can not spend as much
time helping me with the obligations in blogging.

I should have know that  my furiends would be supportive
of this change in schedule.  We were just grumpy pants
because of the amount of stuff she was dealing with as well as the rudeness
of bus people.  This was the second time that a stranger made a
comment about Mom's peeling face and these individuals did it in such
an icky manner it made Mom sad because it is not like
she does not know this and it is a scary thing what the diagnosis.

We know that with this new schedule of reading three to five
books a week and writing papers that there will not be as much
visiting, but we know that you will be there when I do have the chance
to blog.  I am a thankful tortie girl to have such good blogging furiends.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful that Mom got potentially good news
after all the medical news.  She got a call from one
of the librarian jobs for an interview.  While it is only
a part-time job it will let her gain some contacts if she
gets it as well as opportunities to other jobs when the
economy is better and there is more places hiring.

It is also fun to be thinking about if she needs to change her
course schedule so she could work and take classes.
I am thankful to be planning for a happy thing as
things have been so down with everything.  It is only an
interview on Friday and there might be other candidates,
but it is a tiny bit of brightness that makes me purr.

Thankful Thursday

We are thankful for all of the warm words of support
from our furiends as she goes through this process.  She was
worried when the process involved surgery
as the probable diagnosis could be bad depending on the
results of the biospy. The surgeon is going to remove the node on
right leg to do testing to see the cause of the swelling
through he said that it is a short with minimum recovery time.

YAWN it is tiring when it is the humans that have to
go to the V-E-T since this means nurse duties for the humans.
This is hard as they do not listen and do what is best for
themselves even when we try to make them as it serves their
best interest.  I am thankful she is a decent patient and does
not meow too much.

Treat Thursday

My Mom gave me a special treat for being such a
good girl in letting her tend to my Ouchie.  She was proud
of me and pleased that it is beginning to heal.  I got a Grandma
Lucy freeze dry treat.  This treat is meticulously prepared since I
like my treat presented in tiny flakes to be better able to eat.

She uses the container to mash a piece of freeze dry
treat in a paper towel.  After crushing it for about 30 seconds
she checks to see the consistency of the flakes.

When the flakes are a size that I approve of I will
then be presented with the treat on the carpet. I love
this treat. A short film was made of me enjoying the treats
If the sound is turned up my purring
might be heard as I lick up the flakes.

Thankful Thursday

I am very thankful that my Mom does not move me
when I have gotten comfortable on her bed.  She lets
me stay even when there is no more room for her on the
bed until I get tired and move to give room for her to
get onto the bed with me.

When I am on the bed she also makes sure not to move
because I tend to leave the room.  Movement makes
the napping hard so I trained my Mom to be still when
I rest on top of her.
